First: GBP Hospital to get kidney transplant facility soon
Also 7 super-specialty outpatient departments, wards on the card

AGARTALA, May 02, 2024: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that Tripura will soon begin performing kidney transplant procedures at GBP Hospital here. He also mentioned that the government is considering installing an iron removal plant for water within the hospital premises.
Dr Saha was speaking after visiting GB Pant and Agartala Government Medical College Thursday. "Our plan is to have seven super-specialty outpatient departments and wards here and we are working to complete this as soon as possible," he stated.
He inspected the neurosurgery and nephrology departments, and discussed issues related to medication and staff force, including how to properly maintain medical equipment. Dr Saha expressed optimism that all pending works would be completed after consultations with the Public Works Department (PWD), the electrical department, and other relevant authorities.
"We are aware of the high iron content in the water at GB Pant, so we are planning installing an iron removal plant. Our aim is to establish this hospital as a center of excellence, utilizing the available infrastructure," added Dr Saha.
During his interaction with newsmen he revealed that the government is planning to introduce kidney transplant facility at the GB Pant Hospital.
"A team of doctors and staff have completed training in Manipur. I have also discussed this with the principal of AGMC to open the facility soon," he concluded.
