AGARTALA, May 08, 2024: Pabitra Kar, the Secretary of the Tripura state committee of the Sara Bharat Krishak Sabha, has accused the government of neglecting the people affected by natural disasters in Dhalai district. He claimed 50 families lost their homes in a recent storm, while 170 suffered significant losses.
Besides crops such as vegetables and betel leaves were severely damaged. Kar argues that the government is disregarding the agricultural sector and failing to provide necessary support. He also points out that there is no proper irrigation system in place and that farmers affected by natural disasters have not received any compensation.
Furthermore, Kar mentioned that rubber farmers are struggling and that Tripura is now relying on vegetables from other states. He urged the state government to address these issues and take action to improve the country's agricultural sector.
