IRENA Scholarships

Commencing in 2010, the International Renewable Energy Agency, IRENA, will offer up to 20 IRENA Scholarships at MASDAR Institute for Science and Technology (MIST) to highly qualified graduate students from around the world. Of two year's duration, the IRENA Scholarships provide the chosen students with the opportunity to work on research projects in the field of renewable energy and to contribute to the implementation of the Agency's mandate.

Students will divide their time between classes at MIST and research. MIST offers Master of Science (MSc) programs in the following areas:

  • Electrical Power Engineering
  • Engineering Systems and Management
  • Information Technology
  • Materials Science and Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Microsystems
  • Water and Environmental Engineering


IRENA encourages suitably qualified female students to apply.

Support to Underprivileged Students


The Foundation For Excellence Inc. (FFE) is a publicly supported organization to help economically underprivileged and academically bright students in India to complete their higher education. The Foundation seeks to achieve its mission through its Scholarship Program and they have offered thousands of Scholarship so far.

FFE is currently focusing on the students of Assam and North East as there are very few representation from this area. The eligibility for the scholarship is

Student should be currently enrolled in a medical, engineering or technical course.

He / she should be from an economically disadvantaged family.

Ministry of I&B Invites Application


Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Song and Drama Division, Government of India has invited applications from private cultural performing parties of Drama, composite programmes, folk music and dance traditional recitals, magic, mythological recitals, puppetries etc, for registration with song and drama division from various parts of the northeast for a period of two years from the date of approval based on the recommendation of the screening committee.

It is advisable that people who can perform in local dialects and use local live art forms from all the districts of the above mentioned state may apply.
