Nigerian and 6 Bangladeshis detained

Agartala, August 24, 2017: A Nigerian and six Bangladeshis arrested at different places in Tripura over past two days. Men from the African nation have unlawfully been using the state as a corridor for movement to and from Bangladesh.

Innocent Sizuru was captured from Agartala railway station. No valid document was found in his possession. Police charged him under relevant sections of Passport Act and sent him to jail with an order from court.

Elsewhere six Bangladeshis were arrested.

Three Bangladeshi Chakma youths were arrested in Ganddachara subdivision. Police said they are residents of Panchari in Khagrachari district.

In Sonamura, three Bangladesh men were arrested in a separate raid.
