Agartala witnesses biggest protest on Rohingya crisis

Agartala, September 14, 2017: Agartala witnessed biggest protest in northeast India against spate of atrocities and persecution of Rohingyas in Myanmar.

Thousands of Muslim men joined the protest rally that took to city streets on Thursday.

The protestors shouted ‘Hang Aung San Suu Kyi’ for her collaboration with enraged army and Buddhist extremists to commit genocide and forceful eviction of Rohingyas who now sheltered in Cox Bazar district of Bangladesh.

They also appealed Government of India to play a bigger role to stop ‘genocide’ in Rakhine province of Myanmar, home to ethnic Rohingyas who count 4 percent in neighbouring country.
