Congress releases poll manifesto

Agartala, February 12, 2018: Former AICC Observer for Tripura and incumbent Chief Minister of Puducherry V. Narayanaswamy released Congress manifesto for assembly election here on Monday. Congress which is fighting for its existence made promises socio-economic, education and welfare sectors if voted to power in February 18 assembly election in the state. 

State Congress Working President Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Manikya and AICC Secretary Bhupen Bora were present at the programme in the Congress Bhavan. Two Congress MLAs including PCC Chief Birajit Sinha and former PCC Chief Gopal Roy were absent as they are in fray in a contest mainly fought by BJP and Congress.

Congress is contesting in 59 seats in 60 member assembly after a candidate withdrew nomination and subsequently joined BJP.
