Inquiry on second ISI suspect begins

Agartala, September 6, 2010: The investigators are still groping in dark over identify of a terror suspect recently arrested in Agartala in wake of capture of Pakistani national in the city. Spate of interrogation of 22 year of Nayeem Ahmed Mamun has not yet revealed his real credential who originally claimed he was from Bangladesh.  

Officials said a joint team comprising selected officials of state police and intelligence agencies to investigate the suspect arrested on September 2 near Bangladesh within two months of capture of ISI mole Munir Khan and his four Indian collaborators at Sonamura in West Tripura district. Apparent suspicion on Nayeem Ahmed was that he could be an ISI operative or linked with Islamic terrorist groups.  

Claims of the suspect that he went to Anantanag in Jammu & Kashmir for a livelihood and he travelled all the way to Agartala to cross over to his home in Bangladesh. The police have contacted its counterpart in Kashmir for verification of his claim.

State's director general of police Pranay Sahay told newsmen that the interrogation of Nayeem has not revealed his connection with the outlawed groups.
