Extremists has only 5 percent access in Tripura

Agartala, September 17, 2010: The Passing-out Parade of 79th batch of men and 10th batch of women, consisting of 473 newly recruited Constables of Tripura Police was held at KTD Singh Police Training College Thursday. They have successfully completed 11 months training. Manik Sarkar, the chief minister of Tripura attended the programme as Chief Guest.  

Addressing the gathering, Sarkar praised the Constables who have shown their skill in the passing out parade and expressed the hope that they would keep it up in future. Director General of police (DGP), Tripura, Pranay Sahaya said earlier more than 80 percent area of this northeastern state of Tripura was under militants control while now a day it is limited to 5 percent only. Police have to work more carefully to curb militancy totally, he added.  

The programme of the Passing-Out Parade included oath taking, March-past, distribution of prizes, band display etc.
