INPT pushes rigid demands to try a comeback

Agartala, June 11, 2018: Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) which was completely routed in assembly elections in February last is trying to make a comeback in central tribal politics by pushing die hard demands concerning tribals. The party in just concluded meeting of its central committee adopted resolutions like enrollment of state’s population in Assam type national register of citizens (NRC) with 1951 as deadline.

Party’s General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma on Monday said they have also taken a resolution to vehemently oppose proposed amendment of citizenship act which already saw red flag in most of northeastern states. He said other common demands to protect interest and rights of tribal people will continue to be ventilated by the INPT.
