Northeast expo in December

Kohima, November 26, 2010: The 2nd North East Agri Expo 2010, 'Prosperity through Agriculture' which is being hosted by the Government of Nagaland in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) and with sponsorship from Ministry of DONER/NEC and Ministry of Agriculture will commence from December 15 to 19 at North East Regional Agri Expo Complex, 4th mile, Dimapur.  

The North East Agri Expo 2010 will have exhibition stalls, where the exhibition as a whole, will consist of various pavilions such as Thematic Pavilions, State Pavilions, International Pavilions, Livestock Pavilions and Farm & Food Processing Technologies and Machinery & Services Pavilions. Each Thematic Pavilion will showcase products from different states, research results, agriculture clinics and technologies and management processes.  

The North East Agri Expo 2010 will also conduct various conferences and meets such as Investors Meet, Indian Agricultural Technologies, Horticultural Sector of North-East region, Financial Schemes for Agriculture & Agri Business, Technology demonstrations, Educational Awareness programmes and New Approach for Farmers, Agri Clinics, One-to-One buyer-seller/producer-consumer meet, Market Summit and Field Visits.  

Other highlights of the NE Agri Expo 2010 include cultural programmes, colours of North East, food courts, arts & crafts of North Eastern states and a food festival- Cuisines of North East. The NE Agri Expo 2010 will provide space and facilities for exhibition stalls, conference and seminars, business meets and IT & communication.  
All eight North Eastern states will be participating along with other key national and international participants including various Ministries and Departments from the Government of India, Agricultural Universities, private organisations and neighboring Asian countries.  

CHAKA: Mascot for the expo  
'Chaka' the Mithun will be the official mascot at the North East Agri Expo 2010. Chaka is the image of the North East collective, representing the free spirit of the people and symbolizing strength and perseverance.
