ICSSR seminar at TU

Agartala, March 15, 2019: A 2-day ICSSR sponsored National Seminar on "Decolonizing the Indian Mind: Exploring Possibilities" is being organised by Department of Sociology in Tripura University. The Seminar was inaugurated on Friday by Vice Chancellor Prof V L Dharurkar.

 Prof Kapil Kumar Director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Freedom Struggle Studies, New Delhi was the chief guest in the inaugural programme. 

The key note address was given by Prof. Ashwini Mohapatra of JNU. Other guests of honor in the inaugural programme were Prof. Ashok Modak Senior National Professor, MHRD, Prof Santosh Panda, Former Chairman, NCTE, Prof. Chandrika Basu Mazumdar, Dean, Faculty of Social Science and Dr Rajeev Dubey, of Dept. of Sociology, TU and Organizing Secretary of the Seminar.

The inaugural ceremony was anchored by Dr Jai Kaushal of Hindi department of TU. In the plenary session today, Prof. Santosh Panda, Prof. Asesh Gupta, Prof. Aditya Mohanti, Prof.K N.Jena presented their research papers. The session was chaired by Prof.Ashok Modak.

In the technical sessions, Dr.Sindhu Paudiyal, Jay Saha, Dr.Rajiv Dubey, Dr.Amit Kumar and Dr.Nitish Kumar participated. Tomorrow on the second day 12 more Resource persons would present their research papers.
