Lok Sabha speaker to inaugurate conference

The 12th Annual Conference of the North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association will be held at Shillong, Meghalaya from 28 to 31 January 2010. The conference will be inaugurated by Meira Kumar, Speaker, Lok Sabha who is the patron of NERCPA and chief guest of the conference.

The NLA Speaker and Deputy Speaker, Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland, C.M. Chang, Minister for Planning & Evaluation, V&AH, Parliamentary Affairs and Secretary and officials of NLA, Kohima will attend the conference.

During the conference Speaker NLA Kiyanilie Peseyie will be the lead speaker amongst the speakers on the topic 'The impact of insurgency activities in the North East India on Socio-Economic Development and its solution thereof'. C.M. Chang will also participate in the discussion on the same topic, a release from the Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, A. E. Lotha stated.
