Guided by the noble objective of “People First” Arunachal Pradesh Government reaffirms its commitment to building a Progressive Arunachal
Thrust on Social Sectors
- 774 primary schools, 396 upper primary schools, 160 residential schools and 2658 additional classrooms built under SSA
- Revamping Mid-day Meal Programme.
- Rs 10 crores earmarked for purchase of books from NCERT for free distribution to poor and needy students.
- 36 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya established for girl child.
- A National Institute of Technology (NIT) to start functioning from academic year 2010-11.
- 50 Satellite Interactive Terminals set up under EDUSAT Project to bridge physical distance.
- Education Policy 2010 on the anvil for revamping the education sector
Efforts Towards Self-Sufficiency
- Special emphasis on harnessing the rich hydro-power potential and mineral resources, developing tourism, agriculture and horticulture potential.
- 27 MW additional capacity of power added in the last 2 years against 1 MW per year of installed capacity over the last 35 years.
- 34,800 MW worth of hydro-power potential sites allotted to various PSU and other developers
Infrastructure and Connectivity under PM package & PMGSY
- 8 Advanced Landing Ground handed over to MoD for upgradation.
- Upgradation of Tezu airport sanctioned for ATR aircraft operation
- Work on railway line to Itanagar and Trans-Arunachal Highway in progress.
- 438 habitations connected with road connectivity under Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana
- Modern State –of- the Art Secretariat and Legislative Assembly to be completed in two years.
- Another 513 small villages in remote Border Blocks are being taken up for road connectivity under PM’s Package.
Efforts Towards rural economic empowerment
- Micro – Finance Vision—2011 document with an objective to provide easy access to credit to rural poor and SHGs.
- 100 %target achieved Under flagship of PMEGP
- 32,735 households provided employment under NREGS and extended to all districts

Revival of APEX Bank on track with fresh deposit of over Rs. 30 crores and opening of 28,263 accounts
Efforts towards Streamlining Delivery of Essentials Commodities
Two more FCI depots –one each at Anini and Deomali besides a separate Regional Office of FCI at Naharlagun opened
Promoting Transparency
- First state to upload the progress of development scheme to website of its State Centre for excellence in IT
- First state to adopt innovative technology to telecast poll proceedings from polling stations lives over internet.
- Rewarded with 1st National level RTI Award for the best State Information Commission.
Illuminating Border Villages
- 238 villages electrified under Rajeev Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana
- 975 BPL households provided power connection
- 523 villages electrified in 10 Border districts under Border Village Illumination Program of PM’s package and another 193 villages being electrified by March 2010.
