GLOBAL, June 09, 2025: The launch of the Axiom-4 mission carrying Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three others to the International Space Station has been postponed until Wednesday evening due to harsh weather conditions at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.
The mission, which marks the return to spaceflight for India, Poland and Hungary was scheduled to launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Tuesday at 5:52 PM IST. SpaceX's Falcon-9 rocket launch was also postponed due to high winds in the ascent corridor.
Shukla's journey marks India's return to human spaceflight, 41 years after Rakesh Sharma's 1984 voyage. The 14-day mission will "realize the return" to human spaceflight for India, Poland, and Hungary.
The Ax-4 crew and SpaceX teams completed a full rehearsal of launch day activities on Sunday before lift-off.
