NATIONAL, November 01, 2025: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 4.7 kg of cocaine worth ₹47 crore from a female passenger at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. The seizure of the substance was based on specific intelligence and led to the arrest of four other persons of the syndicate.
They were apprehended for their alleged link to the financing, logistics and distribution network of the smuggled narcotics. The recent seizures suggest a growing trend of international drug syndicates exploiting Indian women as couriers and concealing narcotics within food items to evade detection.
Investigation is underway to unearth the wider transnational syndicate orchestrating the smuggling attempt.
