Overall crime rate in Tripura decreases by 19.4%: CM
He handed 975 job offers for rank of constable Tuesday

AGARTALA, May 13, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced that the overall crime rate in the state decreased by 19.4% in 2024 compared to 2023. He attended an Offer of Appointment distribution programme for the post of constable (men & women) in Tripura Police where 975 offers were handed over here Tuesday.
The government plans to recruit another batch of 916 constables and 218 Sub-Inspectors for Tripura Police, Dr Saha informed underlining the government's commitment to providing jobs based on merit and transparency.
From February 12, 2025, work worth Rs 368.21 crore related to infrastructure and development across various departments has been inaugurated with 17,554 people receiving jobs and around 2.1 lakh entrepreneurship opportunities created.
The government is also focusing on quality teachers by providing better training.
In 2025 alone, 4,499 people will receive government job offers. Dr Saha also announced that the state government will recruit 916 more constables for Tripura Police and 218 more Sub-Inspectors.
He highlighted the importance of maintaining law and order and providing security to the people. He also stressed the need for strict vigilance against social media activities and the need for data and information.
In 2024, the overall crime rate in Tripura decreased by 19.4% with road traffic accidents declining by 13%, according to official records.
