KOHIMA, May 03, 2024: The Japanese Ambassador to India will be traveling to Nagaland to attend the inauguration of the Kohima Peace Memorial. He will be leading a delegation to the northeastern state, which is known for the fierce battle that took place between British forces and the Japanese military during World War II.
State government officials Friday held a meeting in Kohima to review the progress of the inauguration of the Kohima Peace Memorial and Eco Park. The meeting also discussed the proposed visit of the Japanese Ambassador, which is scheduled for May 8.
The memorial is considered to be an important milestone in the region's efforts to preserve its rich history and natural heritage.
