Sympathy and honour for martyred soldier at his funeral

AGARTALA, June 06 2020: Indian army soldier Bijay Debbarma who was deployed at an advanced post in Arunahcal Pradesh along China border to guard Indian territory has died two weeks after sustaining injuries from an accident.
Details on the incident have not been known, but the 34 year old soldier had sustained critical injuries on May 22. He succumbed Wednesday last.
An Air Force flight carrying his corpse landed at the MBB Airport here late Tuesday night. Body reached his home at Guliraibari in Sepahijala district around midnight.
An army contingent accorded state funeral before his cremation performed in compliance with tradition of indigenous community.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has condoled death of Bijay Debbarma and recalled his sacrificed for protection of motherland. He also expressed sympathy for the grieving family.
