Four people drowned in Tripura’s Dumboor Lake

AGARTALA, March 24, 2024: Four people are believed to have died after they went fishing at a lake in Gumti district in south Tripura. They drowned during a heavy thunderstorm that ripped apart houses, damaged crops and paralysed normal life in several places of the state.
The tragic incident occurred late last night at Dumboor Lake, which is 41 sq km in size. The four individuals who drowned in the lake, located 120km south of here, have been identified as Jotish Mallik, Pradip Das, Sanjit Nandi and Hari Das.
As of the time of writing this report, only the body of Hari Das had been recovered. The incident has created a pall of gloom in the area.
