NATIONAL: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Monday announced the reopening of 14 tourist spots that were closed following a terror attack in Pahalgam in April of the previous year that resulted in 26 fatalities, primarily among tourists. This decision follows a comprehensive security review and discussions and is part of a larger initiative to restore tourism in the region.
With this latest order, the total number of reopened tourist spots has reached 26; prior to this, 12 destinations were reopened on September 26. The newly reopened sites in the Kashmir Division include Yousmarg, Doodhpathri, Dandipora Park, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan, Padpawan, Astanpora, Tulip Garden, Thajwas Glacier, Hung Park, and Wullar and Watlab.
The Jammu Division will see the reopening of Devi Pindi, Mahu Mangat, and Mughal Maidan. Gurez, Athwatoo, Bangus and Ramkund in the Jammu Division will be reopened once seasonal snow conditions improve.
