AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha criticised the Tipra Motha Party's statement regarding the prohibition of BJP activities in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He asserted that the BJP will continue to engage with the Janajati people in those regions and dismissed any attempts at intimidation or political threats.

Speaking at a party event in Khowai district Tuesday, he underscored that the BJP seeks dialogue rather than unrest and upholds law and order without resorting to chaos.

Dr Saha addressed the history of political maneuvering in Tripura, mentioning past issues such as the proposed Tipraland and developments under Prime Minister Modi's directives for social welfare. He defended the BJP's governance motives amidst claims from the opposition and referenced the funding allocated to local constituencies.

He further challenged assertions regarding script preferences for the Kokborok language, indicating a historical lack of advocacy for Roman script during previous regimes and accused the opposition of attempting to undermine local culture.

Dr Saha condemned past violence associated with the CPIM government asserting a vision for a peaceful New Tripura and reaffirming the BJP's commitment to development and cultural preservation. The meeting was attended by several BJP leaders, signalling party unity and continued focus on the state's socio-political landscape.
