GLOBAL: India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Saturday issued an advisory to flight operators in light of the current restive situation in West Asia. The advisory urges operators to closely monitor the security situation in the region and strictly adhere to international airspace advisories.
This comes after several West Asian countries have imposed restrictions or temporary closures of their air spaces to recent military developments. The DGCA has advised carriers to avoid operating within the affected airspaces at all flight levels and altitudes.
Operators have also been instructed to stay updated on all Aeronautical Information Publications (AIPs) and NOTAMs issued by the affected countries and national authorities. The DGCA has stated that this advisory is effective immediately and will remain in effect until Monday, unless further developments prompt a review or update.
