WB polls: BJP releases second list of 111 candidates
NATIONAL: The BJP Thursday released the second list of 111 candidates for the upcoming West Bengal assembly polls. Former Union Minister Nisith Pramanik will contest from the Mathabhanga assembly seat, while former Rajya Sabha MP Roopa Ganguly has been fielded from Sonarpur Dakshin.
Former national hockey player Bharat Chhetri was named for the Kalimpong Assembly seat.
Meanwhile, the party has fielded Noman Rai as its candidate from Darjeeling. 294 Members West Bengal Assembly will go to polls in two phases on April 23 and 29.
Counting of votes will take place on May 4.
