20 dead in tragic bus fire incident in Andhra Pradesh

NATIONAL, October 24, 2025: A private bus carrying 44 passengers from Hyderabad to Bengaluru Friday caught fire in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district resulting in 20 fatalities and 12 injuries. The accident occurred when a motorcycle collided with the bus causing the fuel tank to rupture.
The bike was trapped under the bus triggering an explosion and rapid flame spread.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed their condolences and declared an ex-gratia payment for those suffered in the tragic incident. Police launched a detailed investigation to know the circumstances leading to the accident and identify all involved.
The tragedy preceded another passenger bus fire incident that left nearly two dozen people dead in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer last week.
