221 crore Aadhaar authentication transactions in August

Growth reflects the growing usage and the digital economy in India

NATIONAL, September 04, 2025: Aadhaar number holders executed over 221 crore authentication transactions in August 2025, a 10.3% increase from the previous year and fiscal. This growth reflects the growing usage of Aadhaar and the digital economy in India.

Aadhaar-based authentication has been instrumental in welfare delivery and service provider voluntary availment. Aadhaar Face Authentication solutions also experienced consistent growth with 18.6 crore transactions executed in August 2025, compared to 6.04 crore in the same period last year.

The AI-based face authentication modality, which works on both Android and iOS platforms, has been used by over 150 entities in government ministries, financial institutions, oil marketing companies and telecom service providers.

Aadhaar e-KYC transactions also saw 38.53 crore transactions in August, enhancing customer experience and ease of doing business in various sectors.
