Doordarshan Kendra Agartala changed to DD Tripura

AGARTALA, January 21 2021: The Doordarshan Kendra Agartala has launched the much awaited 24 hours transmission changing its nomenclature to Doordarshan Tripura. Governor Ramesh Bais has launched the nomenclature - DD Tripura and inaugurated its 24 hours transmission from Thursday.

Member of Lok Sabha Rebati Tripura was present on this occasion.

Governor Bais said, "Doordarshan since its inception has been functioning beyond TRP regime across the country to air factual information and promote local talent and resources." The Governor however urged upon the authorities of Doordarshan Kendra Tripura to focus on promoting local talents of the state of Tripura.

Meanwhile the Deputy Director General (Content and Operation) for North-East zone of All India Radio and Doordarshan N Chandrashekhar who remained present in the function said, "From now on DD Tripura will cover the state extensively and transmit programmes across the globe."

Since it's inception in 1994 the Doordarshan Kendra Agartala now changed to DD Tripura has been airing local news followed by local programmes including educative, informative, sports, entertaining and others.
