NATIONAL, May 11, 2025: India Sunday said to have inflicted significant losses on Pakistan's military during a three-day confrontation between the two sides. The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, stated that 35-40 Pakistani military personnel were killed in the combat and New Delhi achieved its objectives.
The Indian military officials provided details of Operation Sindoor, including how India repelled Pakistani attempts to target Indian military installations and civilian areas. Air Marshal A K Bharti confirmed that India downed a few Pakistani planes but refused to speculate on the numbers. He stated that India has achieved its objectives and all pilots are back home.
DGMO Lt. Gen Ghai also paid tribute to five Indian fallen heroes and civilians who 'tragically lost their lives' during Operation Sindoor.
The DGMOs of India and Pakistan agreed to stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 5 pm IST yesterday. The strikes from India were launched after Pakistan attempted to target major Indian military installations on the night of May 9-10.
Over 100 terrorists, including high-value wanted terrorists like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudasir Ahmed were eliminated during Operation Sindoor on May 7.
