Voting on April 19 will take place in 102 seats across 17 states

NATIONAL, April 17, 2024: Campaigning for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections ended at 5 pm on Wednesday. The voting will take place in 102 constituencies across 17 states and four Union Territories on April 19.
The elections will be held in all parliamentary constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Tripura.
Voting will also be conducted for 12 assembly seats in Rajasthan, eight seats in Uttar Pradesh, six seats in Madhya Pradesh, five seats in Assam and Maharashtra, four seats in Bihar, three seats in West Bengal, two seats in Manipur and one seat each in Chhattisgarh, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir.
Altogether, 1,625 candidates are in the fray, including Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, former Telangana Governor and Lt Governor of Puducherry Tamilisai Soundararajan and BJP state president K Annamalai.
