Preparing Phase 1 of solid waste management centre
Found the need to utilize the available land efficiently

AIZAWL, April 26, 2024: The Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) carried out a site inspection on ‘Construction of Solid Waste Management Centre: Phase-I’ at Hualngohmun Friday under the supervision of its Vice Chairman, R Lal Rinawma.
After inspection of the area and ongoing works, MSPMC Vice-Chairman found the need to utilize the available land efficiently adding that any pending clearance be cleared as soon as possible. Means for proper disposal and segregation of Dry Wastes as well as the possibility of Mechanical compositing for Wet Wastes were discussed with the engineers and contractors. The Vice-Chairman remarked on the need for a re-assessment of the project based on Phase-II of the project.
‘Construction of Solid Waste Management Centre: Phase-I’ has a funding of Rs. 16.64 crore under Special Assistance to States for Capital Expenditure (SASCE). Public Works Department is the Implementing Department for this project with Phase-I of the project in progress which includes Buildings and approach roads.
