Quality of health services, establishing a health hub
CM Dr Saha also said liver and bone marrow transplants possible in state

AGARTALA, July 01, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha declared the government's commitment to improving the quality of health services in the state and establishing a health hub. He also announced an initiative to appoint more doctors in hospitals across the state.
Dr. Saha was speaking at a programme to commemorate National Doctors' Day here Tuesday.
He praised doctors for their hard work and human touch despite the disproportionate ratio of patients to doctors. He also highlighted the expansion of facilities for patient welfare, including nine super-specialty services, work at Agartala Government Dental College and a 100-bed state-of-the-art eye hospital.
The government is also working to make Tripura drug-free, setting up a modern drug de-addiction center in Bishramganj and establishing centres in each district. The government has spent about Rs 17 crore on health services under the Chief Minister's Jan Arogya Yojana and Rs 239 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The third kidney transplant took place yesterday, and discussions are underway about liver and bone marrow transplants in the state facility, Chief Minister said.
Several distinguished guests, including Additional Secretary of the Health Department Rajib Dutta, Director of Health Dr Tapan Majumder, Director of the Family Welfare and Disease Prevention Department Dr Anjan Das, Director of Medical Education Dr HP Sharma, Principal of AGMC Dr Anup Saha, Principal of Tripura Medical College Dr Arindam Dutta, Principal of Dental College Dr Shalu Roy and other eminent doctors, attended the event.
