Army signs MoU with IISc Bengaluru to develop indigenous AI

NATIONAL: The Indian Army has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) located in Bengaluru to engage in collaborative research and innovation aimed at creating a fully indigenous Artificial Intelligence-based system. 

This initiative is designed to confront the emerging challenges present in the evolving digital information landscape. 

In a statement shared via social media, the Indian Army highlighted that this project underscores its commitment to fostering a self-reliant India. The collaboration is expected to integrate the combined strengths of institutional knowledge, academic expertise and contributions from the Indian industry to enhance capabilities for self-reliance in technology development.
