Indian Coast Guard and Assam Rifles engagement braces inter force synergy

Aimed to strengthen cooperation and professional affiliation between these two premier forces of the country

AGARTALA: A 10-member delegation from the Indian Coast Guard is currently on a six-day visit to the Assam Rifles formation at Kunjaban Garrison in Agartala. The tour that began on December 22 and will end on December 27 aims to strengthen cooperation and professional affiliation between these two premier forces of the country.

This visit is being conducted under the institutionalised 'Charter of Affiliation' between the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard with the goal of promoting closer interactions, exchanging best practices and enhancing operational synergy.

During their visit, the delegation met with the Deputy Inspector General of 21 Sector Assam Rifles and discussed issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics and potential areas for future collaboration. They also had the opportunity to witness the ceremonial Beating Retreat, which showcased the rich traditions of the Assam Rifles.

The delegation visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Agartala and other cultural landmarks of Tripura like the Ujjayanta Palace. At the ICP, they were briefed on border management and cross-border trade facilitation.

The delegation also paid a courtesy call to Tripura Governor in Agartala. The interactions stressed the importance of inter-service cooperation in ensuring national security.
