
AGARTALA: Tripura Power Department is set to initiate live line maintenance work and implement drone technology starting in February and March. Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath informed this during the third foundation day celebration of Tripura Power Transmission Limited (TPTL) at Urja Bhawan, Agartala, Monday.
The Minister asserted the critical need for power in achieving the vision of 'Ek Tripura Srestha, Tripura Viksit' stating that upgrades in power infrastructure are essential for development. TPTL is not only marking its foundation day with celebrations but also conducting various initiatives such as blood donation drives, health camps and the distribution of LED bulbs to promote self-reliance among citizens, Minister said.
Power Minister presented a calendar outlining TPTL’s plans for upcoming projects, highlighting the importance of inter-departmental cooperation. He mentioned the installation of underground cables in Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Khumulwng, alongside the launch of TPTL's anthem.
The third foundation day event featured colorful programmes and was marked by a voluntary blood donation camp, supervised by ILS Hospital as part of TPTL’s corporate social responsibility efforts, which also included distributing free LED bulbs to encourage energy-saving practices among local families.
