NATIONAL: The Ministry of Textiles signed MoUs with 15 States as part of the Tex-RAMPS scheme aimed at enhancing textile-related statistical products and research. The signing occurred on the inaugural day of the National Textiles Ministers’ Conference in Guwahati Thursday.
This initiative establishes a framework to improve textile data systems and supports integrated planning for sectors like handlooms and apparel. A yearly grant of ₹12 lakhs will be provided to each State/UT along with ₹1 lakh per district to promote grassroots development.
The MoUs reflect cooperative federalism and aim to support the goal of a US$350 billion textile industry by improving data quality and insights.
