
Signing of three strategic MoU to promote 72 government schools

UDAIPUR, November 06, 2024: Hindustan Zinc Limited, a top zinc producer, pledged ₹36 crores in a 5-year MoU with the Rajasthan Department of Education to boost education. This agreement, involving key government officials, aims to enhance 72 schools, benefitting 2 lakh students yearly aligning with the company's community-focused growth strategy amid Vedanta Group's larger investment plan in Rajasthan.
The MoU focuses on three core areas for the development of students in Rajasthan through the company’s Shiksha Sambal initiative -
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the importance of education for progress, with various MoUs signed for educational development in Rajasthan. He aims to utilize the state's youth potential fully. Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, highlighted their commitment to education and empowerment through initiatives like Shiksha Sambal, benefiting rural and underprivileged communities.
The company has invested in over 1400 Nand Ghars for early childhood development and programs like Unchi Udaan and Jeevan Tarang to support education and empower children with disabilities. Hindustan Zinc has also focused on sustainable livelihood opportunities, healthcare, water conservation, and sanitation, impacting millions of lives across thousands of villages.
