Significant decrease in crime rates in Tripura from 2023

AGARTALA, December 21, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced a significant decrease in crime rates in Tripura from 2023 to November 2025. Speaking at a review meeting on law and order held Saturday he stressed the importance of proper police conduct and independence from political influence highlighting the need for respect towards police personnel.

“The number of crimes against the human body has decreased from 1,385 incidents in 2023 to 753 in 2025 while crimes against women have also seen a decline from 791 to 627,” he said.

Overall, there has been a decrease in crime cases from 5,002 to 3,386. As the Chief Minister holds the home portfolio, he reiterated the government's commitment to maintaining law and order and addressing issues related to communal trouble mongers and crimes against women and children.
