Tripura Chief Minister meets rape victim's family

AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Tuesday met with the family of the Tripura girl who was subject to physical and sexual violence at Gurugram. The girl is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Haryana city.

The Chief Minister met the parents of the victim at New Delhi. He expressed deep empathy and assured unwavering support to the girl and her family.

Dr Saha directed the Special Resident Commissioner of the Tripura Bhavan at New Delhi to extend all necessary support to the victim and her family. The state government has been bearing treatment costs for the girl.

The police have already arrested the main culprit involved in the crimes. Police invoked stringent sections of the law against the accused.
