NATIONAL, April 18, 2024: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has urged voters to understand their democratic responsibility and the power of one vote in elections. He stressed that elections belong to people and their choices belong to them and that India's track record of smooth, regular and high-quality elections is owed to people's judicious and enthusiastic participation.
The Election Commission has ensured basic facilities for voters, with every polling station set up on the ground floor and equipped with facilities like drinking water, washrooms, sheds, ramps, wheelchairs, helpdesks and volunteers.
Voters aged 85 and above and persons with disabilities can vote from the comfort of their homes. Kumar also advised people to take precautions during the summer heat and expressed hope that the spirit of the Indian voter will beat the summer heat.
