CNG fuels 50,000 vehicles in Tripura, Chief Minister informs
Plan to set up several CNG stations, state now has 31 stations

AGARTALA, December 03, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stressed the environmental benefits of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) during the inauguration of Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited's (TNGCL) new CNG station at Khilpara in Gomati district Wednesday. He informed that TNGCL is currently supplying fuel to over 50,000 vehicles in the state and highlighted ongoing measures to establish additional CNG stations in Fatikchhara and Bodhjungnagar to address the basic demands.
Dr Saha also noted the global acceptance of CNG as an eco-friendly fuel, citing its increasing popularity alongside technological advancements and urban development. He further outlined that since 2018, TNGCL has added around 31 CNG stations across Tripura, significantly contributing to reducing air pollution and facilitating cost savings.
The recent launch of CNG facilities will particularly benefit auto drivers, taxi operators and private vehicle owners; Chief Minister opined and added that the government is committed to expanding the CNG infrastructure, with plans for additional stations at various locations including Mohanpur, Khairpur-Amtali Bypass, Bagma, Amarpur and Ampi.
Dr Saha concluded by asserting that public trust in both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government is on the rise, reinforcing the drive for clean energy as a pathway for progress.
