ECI holds two-day conference of Chief Electoral Officers

To finalise preparations for nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR)

NATIONAL, October 23, 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) held a two-day conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) at the India International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Management (IIIDEM) in New Delhi. The conference, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, aimed to finalise preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the respective states/UTs.

The Commission assessed progress made on directions issued to CEOs to map current electors as per the last SIR in the state/UT.

The conference followed a previous SIR preparedness conference on September 10, 2025, where all states/UTs provided detailed presentations on elector numbers, qualifying dates and Electoral Rolls.
