Formal dialogue begins for peaceful resolution of Ladakh tension

Leaders of “Apex Body Leh” and “Kargil Democratic Alliance” attended

NATIONAL, October 22, 2025: The Union Home Ministry's High Powered Committee held talks with Ladakh leaders in New Delhi Wednesday marking the first formal dialogue since violence in the union territory last month.

A dialogue mechanism has been established with “Apex Body Leh” and “Kargil Democratic Alliance” through the Home Ministry's High Powered Committee on Ladakh, a Union Territory.

Kargil Democratic Alliance member Sajjad Hussain Kargili stated that the issue of democracy in Ladakh cannot be resolved in one or two meetings and the process is ongoing.

The government earlier paved release of detained leaders and activists to achieve peaceful resolution.
