New Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura takes oath
Strength of the High Court is now four including Chief Justice Ramachandra Rao

AGARTALA, July 22, 2025: Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office to Justice Mamidanna Satya Ratna Sri Ramachandra Rao as the 9th Chief Justice of Tripura High Court at Raj Bhavan Tuesday. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, his cabinet colleagues, High Court judges among others were present at the oath-taking ceremony.
Justice Mamidanna Satyaratna Sri Ramachandra Rao was previously the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. Former Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Justice Apresh Kumar Singh has taken oath as the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.
Justice Apresh Kumar Singh left the state on July 15. In his absence, Justice T Amarnath Goud has assumed the role of acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.
The current strength of the Tripura High Court is four including Chief Justice Ramachandra Rao.
The High Court of Tripura was established on March 23, 2013, after suitable amendments were made to the Constitution of India and the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act, 1971. The first Chief Justice was Justice Deepak Gupta (March 23, 2013 to May 16, 2016).
Before 2013 Tripura, along with six other states in the North-East of India, was under the jurisdiction of the Guwahati High Court.
