
AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stressed the need for increased awareness about rabies and related diseases among students, teachers and the public. He highlighted the importance of understanding the behavior of stray dogs and the preventive measures to control disease spread.
Chief Minister was speaking a meeting organised by the Animal Resources Development Department on the management of stray dogs and other stray animals at the Secretariat's conference hall Saturday.
The government plans to rescue stray animals and provide suitable shelters along with vaccination initiatives for domestic animals. During a meeting with the Animal Resources Development Department, he discussed the construction of shelter houses and Animal Birth Control Centers across various districts.
He called for public information efforts and training for workers managing stray animals.
