NATIONAL: President Droupadi Murmu presented the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to children recognised for their outstanding accomplishments in various fields including Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art & Culture and Science & Technology during a ceremony in New Delhi Friday. She congratulated the awardees, acknowledging their contributions that bring pride to their families and the nation.
The President highlighted the awards' role in inspiring children throughout India and highlighted the significance of bravery, referring to the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his sons in the fight for truth and justice.
Murmu praised the exceptional talents displayed by children, noting that their achievements showcase the nation's greatness. She specifically mentioned seven-year-old Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika, who contributes to India's chess reputation along with Ajay Raj and Mohammed Sidan P recognized for their bravery in critical situations.
The President honoured nine-year-old Vyoma Priya and eleven-year-old Kamlesh Kumar, who tragically lost their lives while rescuing others, as well as ten-year-old Shravan Singh, who supported soldiers during challenging times. Additionally, she commended Shivani Hosuru Uppara, a differently-abled athlete, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a rising star in cricket, reflecting on how these children exemplify the potential for a bright future for India.
