One Day Seminar held at the Oriental Theological College

YANGLI, TUENSANG (Nagaland), September 25 2023: Oriental Theological College (OTC) in Yangli, Tuensang, hosted a thought-provoking seminar titled "Our Constitution, Our Voice: Exploring our rights as free citizens of a free nation" in collaboration with Project Constitutional Justice. The seminar featured Dr Aniruddha Babar, Director of Project Constitutional Justice and Faculty Member in the Department of Political Science at Tetso College, as the resource person.
The seminar, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of constitutional rights and citizenship, brought together elders, Gaonburas, Dobashis, Government officials, Tribal leaders, women leaders, students, faculty, and local community members. The event was chaired by T Atila Sangtam, and it commenced with an invocation led by Liyangpi, a dedicated senior Lecturer at OTC.
Dr C Chemtingla Sangtam, Principal of Oriental Theological College, delivered the welcome address, emphasising the importance of constitutional awareness in shaping responsible and informed citizens. She expressed her gratitude to all participants for their active engagement in the event.
Adding a cultural touch to the seminar, a special song was performed by Thritingla, captivating the audience with their melodious rendition. Following this, Hongchosing, Council Chairman of New Sangsomong Village, shared words of gratitude and offered opening remarks, highlighting the significance of such educational initiatives in rural communities.
Dr Aniruddha Babar, the esteemed resource person, delivered an insightful presentation on various aspects of the Indian Constitution and the role of citizens in upholding their rights. His comprehensive talk resonated with the attendees, sparking meaningful discussions.
The program concluded on a patriotic note as all participants gathered for a group photograph, proudly holding the national flag. This gesture symbolised their commitment to upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution and their role as responsible and informed citizens of the nation.
The seminar at Oriental Theological College, Yangli, served as a valuable platform for fostering constitutional awareness and encouraging active citizenship, resonating with the core principles of our democratic nation.
