Ministry of RD approves 25 road projects in Tripura
They spanned 65.38 km with a total investment of Rs 68.67 crore

AGARTALA, December 09, 2025: The Ministry of Rural Development has approved 25 road projects in Tripura spanning 65.38 km with a total investment of Rs 68.67 crore under the Road Connectivity component of PM-JANMAN.
This initiative aims to provide all-weather connectivity to 30 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) habitations thereby enhancing the socio-economic conditions of these communities.
Officials Tuesday said by improving connectivity between rural areas and urban centres, the projects are expected to boost economic development through trade and commerce, and enhance access to essential services such as healthcare and education.
Employment opportunities will also be created, stimulating local economies, they said.
This effort aligns with the government’s vision of a prosperous Northeast and a developed India (Viksit Bharat) and underscores a commitment to inclusive development aiming for significant positive transformation in the region for tribal groups in the northeastern part of the country.
