AGARTALA, December 01, 2025: State government Monday released the official list of holidays for 2026, which includes two additional days off for government employees. This decision was made as a result of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha's considerate initiative, demonstrating his goodwill and compassionate approach towards the welfare of government employees.
According to the 2026 holiday calendar, Lakshmi Puja will fall on Sunday, October 25, 2026. As Sunday is already a weekly holiday, the State Government has declared Monday, October 26, 2026, as a compensatory holiday, allowing employees to fully observe and enjoy the festival with their families.
Similarly, Diwali will be celebrated on Sunday, November 8, 2026. In the same spirit of consideration, the government has declared Monday, November 9, 2026, as an official holiday, ensuring that all concerned can observe the festival without any compromise.
These thoughtful additions to the holiday list reinforce the Chief Minister's commitment to supporting cultural traditions and promoting a healthy work-life balance for government employees.
